Planning (Energy) Associate/ Senior Associate (4+PQE) - Any UK office
Our Planning team is looking for an experienced Associate/ Senior Associate to support our work consenting on some of the largest development and, energy infrastructure projects in the UK.

About the Role
You will be part of a growing and dynamic team and be exposed to a diverse work-type and have a good degree of responsibility, providing an excellent opportunity for development and transactional experience.
The role will involve taking a lead role with supporting partners in the Planning practice in connection with major development and energy & infrastructure projects, development consent orders (DCO), compulsory purchase and compensation matters, planning applications and appeals, EIA and HRA, roads law matters, judicial review, asset protection matters, and major real estate and energy/infrastructure transactions. The role will involve regularly working on major projects and transactions with colleagues across the firm, including in the wider Real Estate and Energy teams. The team acts for some of the largest investors, developers, energy companies, utilities and public sector bodies, and currently enjoys several high-profile DCO and major project mandates.
About You
You will:
- Be a qualified solicitor with ideally 4+ PQE
- Be able to demonstrate an interest in, and enthusiasm for, development planning and, energy & infrastructure consenting
- Have gained good experience in a recognized planning team, with strong DCO experience beneficial
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Have a strong academic background
- Demonstrate the ambition to succeed and commitment to business development and client relationship management
- Be commercially orientated with a commitment to innovation
- Have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Be well-organised with strong administration and time management skills and the ability and drive to meet demanding deadlines
