Banking - Associate 0-2 PQE - Aberdeen

The Aberdeen banking team sits within the UK Finance Group at CMS. The Scottish Finance Group are top ranked in both Chambers and Legal 500 and are the largest banking and finance practice in the country.

The Scottish Finance Group deals with several varied and interesting practice areas including acquisition finance, corporate lending (including corporate real estate lending), funds finance, TMT finance (especially fintech), and advisory work on derivatives and other products. The successful applicant will gain a wide variety of work not only within the UK, but internationally as well through the extensive CMS network.

About the Role

The Aberdeen banking team acts on lending transactions across a wide variety of sectors and product areas. Their areas of sector focus include acquisition finance, funds finance, real estate finance, fintech, and digital assets.
Clients span the lending universe from established UK and international banks and alternative lenders through to private equity sponsors, corporates, and technology start-ups. We also act for a wide variety of Scottish and UK corporates in the energy, housing, food and drink, and leisure sectors.

About You

We are a small but successful deal-doing team in Aberdeen, and we are looking for a candidate who has enthusiasm, drive, and the willingness to work hard, whilst being proactive and detail-orientated. If you have banking experience or other relevant transactional experience (for example, corporate), this would be beneficial but is not essential as candidates will have access to in-house training programmes as well as day-to-day training and coaching. The most important qualities in a successful candidate are a willingness to learn, a desire to work hard and an interest in the banking and finance sector.
